London Buses route 79 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Alperton and Edgware bus station, it is operated by Metroline. ==History== Route 79 commenced operating on 21 November 1987 between Alperton station and Edgware bus station via Wembley, Preston, Queensbury and Canons Park. It was initially operated by London Buslines. On 3 September 1991 it was extended to Alperton Sainsburys. Upon being re-tendered, on 23 November 1996 the route passed to MTL London's North Acton garage. Route 79 was included in the August 1998 sale of MTL London to Metroline.〔(History ) Metroline〕 When next tendered it passed to First London's Alperton garage on 24 November 2001. First London commenced a further contract on 25 November 2006.〔(Bus tender results Route 79 ) Transport for London 3 May 2006〕 On 26 November 2011, the route passed to Metroline's Perivale East garage,〔(Bus tender results Route 79 ) Transport for London 8 April 2011〕 moving to Perivale West garage on 23 June 2012.
